Sheldon's connections to the Tampa Bay Area run deep, with many of his family ancestors being among the original settlers of Hillsborough and Pinellas County in the mid-1800s. He was raised in South Tampa and completed his education at H.B. Plant High School. Sheldon is actively engaged in the community, having formerly been on the Board of Directors for Tampa Bay Little League, an active member of the Rotary Club of Tampa, Inc., and holding various leadership roles within his local church.
